Evgeni Plushenko's long list of career highlights shows what an great figure skating talent he is. His career is filled with Gold and he never misses to amaze us everytime with an *GOLDen* performance with a unique style, incredible jump combinations and beautiful artistry.
Since the 1995-1996 season when Evgeni competed in his first international competiton, he has:

Won Gold 52 times out of 76 competitions so far, 14 times Silver and 4 times Bronze and only 8 times no medal! See his Competitive History for all details.

In 5 seasons (1999-2004) he won 33 of 39 competitions and only one time without a medal! His consistency is unmatched!

Evgeni's most succesfull seasons are 2000/2001 and 2002/2003 where he won all competitions except at both seasons, one time silver.(2000 Japan Open, 2002 Campbells Internationals)

Since the new judging system is intruduced he is holding right now the world record in men figure skating with 258.33 points! His record is being 36.96 points ahead of the second placed skater.

He is the youngest at the age of 16 years who received a 6.0!
The most 6.0's he recived at one competition is 16 times, it is also
a record! It was at the Russian Nationals 2004 with 2 in technical
and 14 in presentation!

His famous jump combinations:
  • In Skate Canada 1998, he landed his first 4-3 combination.

  • In the NHK Trophy 1999 he was the first skater to ever land a 4-3-2 combination and remain he was the only one to land this combination until Olympics 2002 where two skaters landed succesfully.

  • He has landed 26 times his 4-3-2 so far.

  • He is the first and only skater to land a 4-3-3 combination. He first landed at the Cup Of Russia 2002.

  • He had landed 3 times his 4-3-3 combination so far.

  • He is the first skater doing a 4 Toeloop-2 Loop combination.

  • He can do the very rare 3 Axel - ½ Loop - 3 Flip combination.
Even more highlights:

  • He landed his first quad with age 14

  • He is the first male figure skater (and currently only) who shows the Biellmann spin
    in senior competitions.

  • He is the youngest to receive a bronze medal at Worlds
